Slice of Life Catering provides 6-month paid internships teaching skills to gain employment in the food service industry.

 Training includes:

  • Food Safety and Sanitation Practices
  • Baking and Cooking Techniques
  • Kitchen Equipment and Tools
  • Safe Knife and Cutting Skills
  • Measuring Basics
  • Accurately Follow a Recipe
  • Design, Produce and Assemble Attractive Displays
  • Earn a CA ServeSafe food handler certificate

 

Slice of Life Café at 1380 Howard St. is a 6-month paid internship teaching necessary skills to work in a café, customer service or retail environment. Participants earn a CA ServeSafe Food Handler Certificate and learn:

  • Food Safety and Sanitation Practices
  • Operate a Point of Sale Register
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Short Order Cooking and Food Prep
